wax:
A vegetable wax made of a smooth blend of rapeseed and coconut.
I love the look of the natural creamy colour the wax has so I never add any colourings to my candles. Each scent does have its own unique shade but that's the charm of the fragrance oil.
fragrance oils:
I use fragrance oils to scent all of my candles. These are a blend of essential and synthethic oils specifically formulated for use in candles and are safe and sustainable for the environment.
packaging:
I'm super proud to say that every single one of my orders is packaged plastic-free! They are delivered in cardboard boxes which are 100% recyclable.
To keep the candles safe during transport, I use biodegradable void fills which is a fancy way of saying they disappear without ending up at the landfill. Throw them in the sink and turn on the tap to watch them dissolve (very fun)!
Don't stress about how to what to do with the packaging when your order comes. Each order includes a 'how to dispose' card so you don't need to remember!

Hi, I'm Ifeoma! (pronounced E-for-ma)
I'm the mind behind Wooden House Candles.
Scented candles have always been a must have for me; whether I'm burning one (or three!) whilst reading or just letting them light up my evening while watching TV. They are also my go-to gift... I mean who doesn't like candles!
Making my own candles has been a desire of mine for years and after procrastinating for far too long, I got started in 2020. Burning the candles I had made was such a great feeling and the ambition started to grow from there. They were too good to just keep to myself! After months (and months!) of further testing, I launched Wooden House Candles, so I could share the joy, from one candle lover to another.
The name Wooden House Candles and logo comes from the shed at the end of my garden which we've always called 'the wooden house' because it's wooden and shaped like a house - duh! The shed houses old and often forgotten trinkets along with photo albums from different points in our lives which resurface during our annual deep cleans providing laughter and embarrassment.
Making it my brand means I can share a piece of my home and history with you. As my candles find their place in your homes, I hope they bring you joy and you love as much as I loved making them.
