How do I take care of my candles?Taking care of your candles is very important. It helps maximise the lifespan of the candle and helps it to burn as efficiently as possible. Here are some of our pointers: - Always trim your wick before every burn. Trim the wick to approximately 1/4 inch length. - Keep the wax pool clear of any wick trimmings, matches or debris before lighting. This prevents the flame from catching and relighting the debris which could result in a wild flame. - Burn the candle for at least two hours at a time, or until the wax has pooled to the edges of the tin to prevent tunneling and leaving a build up of unmelted wax on the sides of the tin. - Do not burn for longer than four hours at a time. - Stop burning the candle when 1cm of wax is left at the bottom of the tin and do no relight.

My candle is lumpy and uneven after burning. What went wrong?Nothing went wrong with the candle. It's common for uneven surfaces can occur with natural vegetable waxes so don't worry, there's absolutely nothing wrong with your candle. It's a sign we don't mix any type of enhancers into our wax!

Do you run a recycling scheme for the candle tins?We currently don't run a scheme but the tins we use are widely recyclable and can be reused for other things.
-
How do I remove leftover wax from a finished candle to reuse my tin? This is really easy to do. Simply put a small amount of water into a pot and put the finished candle tin into the pot. This will serve as a double boiler. As the water heats up, the wax will melt. Now you can wipe out the melted wax using a paper towel or old newspaper then give the tin a wash in warm soapy water. Never pour melted wax down the drain! The wax will solidify in the pipes, causing them to block.
